State intelligence head meets chief minister Panneerselvam

Devasirvatham was appointed as the intelligence unit's head only on Monday, amidst rumours of a few senior police officers not following the commands of the Chief Minister.

CHENNAI: Senior police officer and new head of the state's intelligence unit Davidson Devasirvatham visited the Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, minutes after the Supreme Court delivered the verdict convicting the AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala.

Devasirvatham was appointed as the intelligence unit's head only on Monday, amidst rumours of a few senior police officers not following the commands of the Chief Minister.

On Tuesday, Devasirvatham visited Panneerselvam even as a huge number of cadres were waiting outside his official residence.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister is expected to visit the secretariat around 12 noon.
