CHENNAI: An AIADMK MP on Thursday charged that the BJP was remote-controlling the faction led by former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and that the party was trying to gain a foothold in Tamil Nadu through Panneerselvam faction.  Addressing a press conference here, Anwar Razza,  Ramanathapuram MP said, “V Maitreyan and K Pandiarajan, who are leading the faction led by O Panneerselvam, has led our brothers to the place where  both of them had originated (BJP).”

Alleging that the BJP was involved in the selection of Panneerselvam as the next Chief Minister after the death of the late CM, J Jayalalithaa, he said, “When a CM dies, someone will be appointed as interim CM and later, a permanent CM will be elected. But what happened after Jayalalithaa’s death? Two Central ministers camped in Chennai, particularly at Apollo Hospitals and they made Panneerselvam the CM.  This took place when VK Sasikala was in distress following Jayalalithaa’s death. This allegation was made by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy.”
