CHENNAI: T T V Dhinakaran, candidate of AIADMK (Amma) for the RK Nagar by-poll, on Saturday alleged that former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and DMK working president M K Stalin had been colluding with each other to bring down the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu.

Answering mediapersons’ queries at the party headquarters here, Dhinakaran said: “Some persons close to Stalin are lobbying with AIADMK (A) MLAs to join hands with Panneerselvam faction and the MLAs had also brought this to our notice.

“This proves that Stalin and Panneerselvam are hand in glove in their efforts to destabilise this government.”

However, reacting to this, Stalin said he did not want to lower his status by responding to such allegations.
Responding to another charge about distribution of money by his faction, Dhinakaran said:

“There is no need for us to distribute money.  Just our promise to fulfil the assurances given by the late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa would be sufficient to win the by-election because she had done so much for RK Nagar constituency.”

Meanwhile, AIADMK (Amma)’s committee to monitor the by-election work in RK Nagar has been expanded by adding 29 members, including many former ministers.

With this, the total number of election in-charges in the committee had gone up to 171.  Apart from this, party MP Anwar Razza and spokesperson Vaigai Chelvan have been appointed to hold discussions with alliance parties which wish to campaign for Dhinakaran.

Later, in the evening, Dhinakaran went to various parts of RK Nagar constituency canvassing votes.  Senior party functionaries also accompanied him.
