CHENNAI: The first bench of the Madras High Court has impleaded both Vellore Collector and Additional Chief Secretary (Home-Courts) in a PIL challenging the action of the administration in acquiring land for construction of a new bus stand at Anaikattu.

The impleaded authorities shall clarify why the State went unrepresented in two civil suits filed in the local courts, allegedly by encroachers, which resulted in the courts passing ex-parte orders in their favour.They must file a report giving the details pertaining to the government advocates in-charge in the respective courts and the officers, who were responsible for giving instructions to them, as also other particulars of the issue.
