Protocol violated, says Stalin

DMK working president M K Stalin on Friday said protocol was violated during the swearing-in ceremony of the Governor. Talking to mediapersons, Stalin said after the Chief Minister, ministers and government whip, he, as Leader of the Opposition should have been called to greet the new Governor. “When we tried to go to the dais, an official prevented us saying only after the judges had greeted the Governor, Leader of Opposition can greet him.

I argued that if that was so, ministers should have greeted the Governor only after the judges. After this, we were allowed to meet the Governor. So, protocol was violated at the function.” Meanwhile, E R Easwaran, general secretary, Kongu Nadu Makkal Desiya Katchi, charged that Stalin was insulted at the swearing-in ceremony and condemned the alleged incident.
