PUDUCHERRY: The five-member Central team which is in neighbouring Tamil Nadu to examine the dengue situation there would visit Puducherry tomorrow to review the preparedness to handle the disease in the Union Territory.
Director of Health and Family Welfare Services, Puducherry, KV Raman told PTI today that the team would hold discussions on the 'dengue' situation with Ministers and officials of the Health and Local Administration departments at a joint meeting here tomorrow.
He said the central team would also visit the Government General Hospital and a few other institutions to have a firsthand account of the treatment procedure adopted for health care of dengue-hit patients.
Stating that dengue menace was under control now in Puducherry, Raman said since the outbreak of the disease last month three patients have died of dengue in private hospitals in Puducherry.
Massive measures were launched to curb mosquito menace in urban and rural areas, he added.
The Central team visiting Puducherry would comprise officials from AIIMS, National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme, Lady Hardinge Medical College and National Centre for Disease Control, New Delhi.
