Tributes paid to Periyar on his birth anniversary

PUDUCHERRY: Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today paid tributes to the founder of Dravidar Kazhagam outfit, E V Ramasamy Periyar on the occasion of his 138th birth anniversary.

Welfare Minister M Kandasamy, legislators and delegates of different wings of the ruling Congress also garlanded the statue of the rationalist leader here.

Leaders and MLAs of the opposition AIADMK (Amma) led by the leader of the legislature wing of the party A Anbalagan, functionaries of the Dravidar Kazhagam, DMK and several other outfits also paid floral tributes at the statue on the occasion.
