Rs 50 lakh award to TN’s Commonwealth Games gold medalists

CHENNAI: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Tuesday congratulated three sportspersons - Sarath Kamal, Amal Raj and Satyan -  who have won gold medals in table tennis events at the ongoing Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast, Australia and announced an incentive of Rs 50 lakh each. He also sent greetings to them on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu.

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami recalled that Sarath Kamal had received his training in the Centre of Excellence for Table Tennis at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium- SDAT- AKG Academy, Chennai set up by the Tamil Nadu government to promote world class table tennis players.  While Amal Raj had won the third medal in the successive Commonwealth Games, Satyan won a gold medal in table tennis event on Tuesday.
