One killed, 13 hurt in jallikattu at temple festival

MADURAI:  One person was killed and 13 others were injured during the bull taming sport of jallikattu held at nearby Kulamangalam today, police said.

The sport was organised in connection with a festival at the local Karuppasamy temple and a total of 650 bulls took part in the event.

A bull-tamer, in his mid 20s, was gored to death while 13 others who suffered injuries were given treatment at the venue itself, police said.
