CHENNAI: Two men were arrested for repeatedly raping a Class VII girl over the last few months by threatening her. Police said that the girl was a neighbour of the accused and a daughter of one of them was her classmate.

“Three months ago one Rahamadullah saw the girl playing in the streets. He took her inside his house and raped her. Since then, he threatened her and prevented her from speaking about it. He was repeatedly raping the child and recently told his friend Shahul Ahmed about her. Soon he also started exploiting the child,” said a police officer.

Police said Rahamadullah even tried to film the child during the sexual assault. Taking advantage that his daughter is the victim’s classmate, it is said that he had told the victim’s parents that his daughter wants to play with her and took the victim to his house.

Both men are share-auto drivers. Only recently, the girl mustered courage and informed her parents. The victim’s father picked up a fight with the accused and later filed a complaint with Kanathur police.
