Hoax bomb call halts Tamil Nadu Express for two hours in Vijayawada

VIJAYAWADA: Delhi-bound Tamil Nadu Express was halted for nearly two hours on the outskirts of Vijayawada after an unknown person made a call that explosives were planted inside the train. The local police and railway authorities, who searched the entire coaches for nearly two hours, declared the call as a prank.

The Tamil Nadu Express was stopped at the Krishna Canal Junction of Guntur district, just a few minutes away from Vijayawada junction. Guntur Railway Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajay Prasad said the train was immediately halted at Krishna Canal Junction around 3 am after being informed about the threat call. 

Five bomb disposal squads searched  the coaches and the passengers' belongings for two hours but could not find any explosives. Finally, after the threat call was declared as a prank, the train countinued its journey.
