Ruling out that the possibility of floating a new party, MK Alagiri on Wednesday said that he had rights in the Arivalayam and it was not anyone’s individual property.

Talking to the media persons here, he said, “I was suspended two months ago, but till date I have not received any official communication or notice from the party in that connection. Though there is a procedure, nothing has been followed in may case.”

Claiming that he has rights in the party and Arivalayam, the Madurai strongman said that both the entities were the result of cadre’s hard work and do not belong to any individual.

In a veiled reference to his younger brother M K Stalin and his supporters, he said that the decision against him were taken owing to pressure from certain vested interest and a particular group in the party. “A different kind of action will be taken against them after the election. But, I will not disclose it now,” cautioned Alagiri.

When asked whether he would follow in the footsteps of MGR and Vaiko and  launch a new party, he replied in the negative and said, “I am not MGR.” Parrying question on support to the party in the election, he said, “I am still a cadre of the DMK.”

Alagiri has devised a clear plan to travel the breadth of the northern districts and central districts, where M K Stalin has strong party roots, to group in his supporters and dissent factions.

The strongman, however, decided to meet his supporters in districts that considered as Stallin’s fortress well guarded by his supporters.

I am planning to meet my supporters in the coming days,” said Alagiri and added that he would meet his supporters in Tanjore next. Then, he planned to visit Mudukulathur in Ramanathapuram district, Aruppukottai in Virudhunagar district. On April 12 and 13, he planned to meet his sympathisers in Tirunelveli, Karur and Nagapattinam.
