Saritha Nair, one of the main accused in the solar panel scam in Kerala, was produced before the judicial magistrate court here on Monday in connection with `32-lakh fraud case in Coimbatore.

Saritha Nair along with her husband Biju Radhakrishnan and R C Ravi, were running a private company, International Consultancy and Management Services and ran an advertising campaign promising to initiate govt-subsidised windmill projects across the district.

Responding to the advertisement, Thiyagarajan, MD of a private firm, is said to have invested around `26 lakh between May 5 and December 3 of 2008. Another person, Josanna M Kalachand, member of a charitable mission, is also said to have invested `6.57 lakh in the proposed project between 2008 and 2009.

Both the investors realised that they have been cheated as the projects were not forthcoming. When they tried to approach Saritha Nair, Biju Radhakrishnan and R C Ravi, the trio could not be traced. Subsequently, both the men from Coimbatore lodged a complaint with Vadavalli police.  After being charged with fraud, the trio was declared as absconders in Feb 2011. In July of 2013, Saritha Nair and Biju were arrested and charged with cheating  people in Kerala to the tune of `7 crore by offering to install solar power units.
