1st Batch of Women Cops Join TS Police

HYDERABAD: The first batch of newly- recruited women police constables of Telangana formally joined the state police on Friday at the Andhra Pradesh Police Academy (APPA).

A total of 486 trainee woman police constables from both APPA and Police Training Center (PTC), Warangal participated in the passing-out parade in the presence of home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Director General of Police  Anurag Sharma and other top police officials.

The home minister took the salute while the DGP administered oath to the the cadets. 

After successfully completing nine months of training at their respective training centers in both indoor and outdoor tasks, the constables would take charge in their posting locations.

According to M Malakondaiah, Director of APPA, the cadets went through various types of training, including tear gas and mob operation, weapon training and firing.
