Maintenance Fund Doubled for BT Roads

HYDERABAD: The maintenance amount required for BT roads was doubled by R&B Department on Saturday. In view of the escalation in cost of bitumen, lubricants, labour rates, BT patch work and earth works to berms were increased.

For single-lane BT roads for all classification of roads the maintenance amount was increased from Rs  12,000 to Rs  24,000 per km.

The maintenance of double lane BT road and other multi-lane BT roads was increased from Rs  15,000 to Rs  30,000  per km.

Earth, gravel, WBM road for all classification of roads, the maintenance of amount was increased from Rs  6,000 to Rs  12,000 per km. The State government  has accorded top priority to improve rural road connectivity. Accordingly, the maintenance amount was increased for beter roads in rural areas.
