ADILABAD: A woman lost sight in her left eye after a surgery at the RIMS hospital on Saturday.
Sources said, K Gangamma (56), native of Piperi village in Baarathnoor mandal, got admitted at Rims on December 5 for surgery on her left eye. RIMS doctor Vinay Kumar performed the surgery on December 7. From the next day, she developed complications and was kept under observation. On Friday, the doctor confirmed that the surgery was a failure and referred her to a hospital in Hyderabad.
Angered over the incident, Gangamma’s relatives met forest and environment minister Jogu Ramanna and director of medical education (DME) P Srinivas at the hospital and complained against the doctor who performed the failed surgery.
