Forest Laws to Be Changed Soon

HYDERABAD: Stating that there is a need for bringing out major changes in the existing forest laws, forests and environment minister Jogu Ramanna said here on Monday that  they were taking all possible measures for achieving the objective of increasing the green cover in the state to 33 per cent.

Highlighting that there was a need to strengthen the vigilance wing of the department to ensure the valuable forest produce is saved, he instructed officials to book non-bailable cases on the offenders.

For speedy realisation of objectives of ‘Telanganaku Haritha Haaram,’  the minister  said  that the department would fill all vacancies soon.
