HYDERABAD: A PIL was filed in the Hyderabad High Court seeking direction to the Telangana government to place all pending reports of the state Vigilance Commission along with action taken reports for the year 2014-15 and 2015-16, before the state legislature in the next Assembly session.

Forum for Good Governance, an NGO represented by its secretary M Padmanabha Reddy, submitted that the vigilance commission is an independent body specially formed to prevent corruption among public servants. If it is found that any public servant has indulged in corruption, the reports of the vigilance commission are sent to the General Administration Department (GAD) with its remarks but the respective state government are taking the reports of the commission as an advisory, rather than taking strong action against the corrupt officials.
