‘Stall Khammam edu society erection’

HYDERABAD: A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the management of Mamata Educational Society at Khammam belonging to TRS MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar not to make any construction for a period of three weeks on the land which has been regularised by the state government.
The bench comprising ACJ Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice A Shankar Narayana made this order in a writ plea filed by local farmer M Sudhakar Rao complaining that the college management had encroached upon 11,000 sq yards. He said that he was being harassed after filing the present petition.

The petitioner’s counsel submitted that the college had made an application for regularising the encroachment in terms of GO 59 issued by the state government in 2014. Though initially the application was rejected by the Tahsildar, the district collector issued directions regularising 5000 sq yards on an application made by the MLA who had since moved to the ruling party. The government considered the application for the remaining land also.

In fact, the government order would only apply to the lands where constructions were already carried out.
While making it clear that no constructions shall be made for three weeks, the bench directed the state to file an affidavit and adjounred to next Tuesday.
