Youth from Khammam killed in Kentucky road accident

A youth from Khammam district of Telangana, who was pursing higher studies in the United States, died in a road accident at Kentucky.

KHAMMAM: A youth from Khammam district of Telangana, who was pursing higher studies in the United States, died in a road accident at Kentucky early on Monday morning. Information reaching here said another person, a youngster from Hyderabad, was also fatally injured in the accident.

Yaramala Rajasekhar Reddy, a 25-year-old from Buchireddypalem village in Yerrupalem mandal in Khammam district, had joined for MS course in the US in January this year. Before that, he had completed his MBA from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad. 

Reddy and his friends were travelling on a car near Sebran in Kentucky when they met with the accident on Sunday night (American time). Reports said his friend K Vara Prasad from Hyderabad, also pursuing MS, too, was seriously injured, but the nature of his injuries or his present condition is not yet clear.

The death of their son came as a shock for his parents - farmer, CPM leader and the local sarpanch, Srinivasa Reddy, and mother Kavitha, who fainted after learning the news.

Family members told The New Indian Express that Reddy had set his goal to complete his studies in USA and settle down there, just like his elder brother Madhu Krishna Reddy.

Hearing the news, hundreds of villagers, local leaders of political parties, officials and others visited the family to console him.

Family members added that relatives will head to the US to bring Reddy’s body back.
