'Know your district - plan your district' launched

HYDERABAD: As an effort for the concerted development of the state, district-wise plans “Know Your District-Plan Your District” will be prepared by the respective district collectors soon.
The district-wise plans were proposed earlier by the state government but were kept pending due to districts’ reorganisation.

During a review meeting on the developmental plans at his camp office on Monday, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed the officials to identify the district-wise resources and needs, and prepare plans accordingly.
“The greatest reform of reorganising the districts will yield results only if we prepare comprehensive plans for concerted development,” the Chief Minister said. “One district will differ from another in terms of needs, resources and problems. Each district plan should focus on the issues relating to that district,” Rao suggested.

Earlier, the area of operation for district officers was vast. However, with reorganisation of districts, the workload has been reduced, Rao said and added that the quality of services should now improve.
“Each district collector has two to four lakh families to monitor in their respective districts. This will allow us to reduce the corruption and bring more transparency in governance,” Rao said.
The CM also directed the collectors to ensure that all the certificates including mutations and duplicates of Pahani should be delivered to the public on time.
