Welfare residential schools for minorities in Telangana soon: KCR

HYDERABAD: The state government has decided to start Minority Welfare Residential schools on the lines of Social Welfare Residential schools in the state.  “Gururkul schools for SCs/STs are running successfully and are achieving good results,” CM K Chandrasekhar Rao said and added that Minority Gurukul schools should be started on the same lines.

At a review meeting here on Friday, the CM said that already 71 Minority Gurukul educational institutions were started this year for minorities and the number should be increased. KCR said another 89 Gurukul schools for minorities would be started soon and one Assembly segment would have at least one Gurukul school for minorities. He also directed officials to make provision in the state Budget from next year for the maintenance of these schools.

CM lauds social welfare students

Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society students bagged 40 seats in medicine and 20 seats in dental courses in EAMCET-3. Another 25 students were selected for Central universities.
