WARANGAL: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who’s belief in vaastu shastra is well known, seems to be using the ‘science of architecture’ to overcome his latest political crises.

Rao is said to be of the opinion that a huge public meeting at Prakashreddypet in Hanamkonda on April 27 would benefit the TRS party politically as it has always been lucky for the pink party.

This decision comes in the backdrop of the party’s popularity reportedly declining. The state’s failure to provide remunerative prices to farmers is not going down to well with agriculturalists. The Opposition have been targeting the government on various issues. The TRS chief is banking on the ‘auspicious’ site of Prakashreddypet to overcome these crises.

In order to appease farmers, who are agitating for remunerative prices for their produce, the TRS leadership has named the public meeting on April 27 as ‘Rythu Jaitra Yatra’.

Previous successes
Citing examples of the venue’s importance, TRS leaders said that the 2003 ‘Simha Garjana’ in Prakashreddypet, not only helped the party emerge as a force in Telangana, but also helped Congress under the leadership of YS Rajasekhara Reddy to come to power in 2004 with support of TRS.

In 2010,  when Congress chief Sonia Gandhi delayed fulfilment of its statehood promise, KCR, once again organised a massive public meeting at Prakashreddypet and this changed the entire course of the movement and UPA was forced to grant Telangana.
