HYDERABAD: The All India Jamiatul Quresh Action Committee (AIJQAC) has decided to form ‘gau rakshak committee’ to spread message among people to desist from slaughtering of cows.

President of AIJQAC, advocate Mohammed Abdul Faheem Qureshi, said, “We are associated with many butchers and cattle traders across the country. Gau rakshak committee formed by AIJQAC will spread message among them to respect religious sentiments of Hindus. Our motive of forming the committee is to build communal harmony.”

AIJQAC had earlier approached the Supreme Court challenging the central government’s notification on prohibition of sale of cattle for slaughter, the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Regulation of Livestock Markets) Rules, 2017, terming it unconstitutional.
