Kakatiya University non-teaching association JAC has given a call for pen-down on December 15 and university bandh on December 18. They are protesting against university authorities' failure to fulfill their demand.

Their demands include - health cards to all employees, minimum wages to casual labourers, filling up of backlog posts, promotions to daily wage class IV employees, recognising senior daily wage employees as time-scale employees, regularising time-scale employees and clear their PRC dues, withdrawal of CPS and sanctioning of new posts for newly set up departments and colleges. They also wanted jobs for family members of daily wage and temporary employees in case of death of the employee on compassionate grounds.

JAC leaders M Narayana Rao stated that they have been requesting the university authorities to accept their demands since long but they have been ignoring it. In order to exert more pressure, the non-teaching staff has decided to hold university bandh and pen-down strike, he added.
Meanwhile, the university authorities claim that they were looking into the issue and would take a decision soon. However, the non-teaching staff were restless and were in no mood to listen to the authorities.
