JANGAON: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao accused Congress and TJAC chief M Kodandaram of creating obstacles in the construction of irrigation projects and halting development of Telangana State.
Speaking after inaugurating the statue of legendary freedom fighter Doddi Komuraiah at Lingala Ghanpur here on Sunday, Harish Rao blamed the Congress for constantly creating impediments to the efforts of the State government in taking up various irrigation projects. “Congress had been filing cases in courts and creating hurdle in the way of taking up projects,” he alleged.
Coming down heavily on Kodandaram, the senior TRS leader said that the TJAC chief was misleading people on various issues for political gain. “People who want to create hurdle in the State’s development were joining JAC. They have only one aim — to stop development of the State. These are the people who created problem in creation of Telangana and even after formation of the State, they are continuing their effort to stop the development. It is high time that people of the State teach lesson to such forces,”he remarked.
He said that both Congress and Kodandaram have lost credibility as they are trying to stop the development. “People have realised that these forces are working against their interest and are disowning them,” the minister added.
Later speaking after laying foundation for Nagulammachervu feeder canal, the irrigation minister asked officials to complete the work within four months. “I want to inaugurate the feeder canal after four months. This would provide water to 2,390 acres in the area. I don’t want any delay. Complete the work as per schedule,” he directed the officials.
