TS, AP advocates want HC to be bifurcated

The Advocates’ Joint Action Committee of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States on Saturday demanded immediate bifurcation of the existing High Court and Bar Council.

HYDERABAD: The Advocates’ Joint Action Committee of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States on Saturday demanded immediate bifurcation of the existing High Court and Bar Council. The JAC decided to launch agitation programme on the issue in a phased manner.

A meeting of the advocates was held at the Nampally criminal courts complex here.  At the meeting, it was unanimously resolved demanding the Central government for cancellation of amendments made to Section 41 of CrPC vesting powers to the police to grant bail in police stations. Enhancing the benefit amount from `3 lakh to `20 lakh to those advocates who stop their practice after 58 years, are among the other demands of the JAC.
