State government to slap critics with cyber crime laws?

TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar claims social media is being used to float CM’s morphed images and KCR’s speeches out of context.

TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar on Monday said there was a vicious campaign against the CM on social media.

“Social media is being misused. Some politicos, particularly Congress leaders, are trying to jeer the Chief Minister by circulating his morphed videos and speeches, out of context on the social media. Cyber crime police will take action against such people,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Telangana Advocates, JAC leaders - Kontham Goverdhan Reddy and CH Upendra, lodged a complaint with the the Dy Commissioner (cyber crime), seeking action against those, who are defaming the CM. “CM KCR delivered a speech in a public meeting on August 12, 2015 at Dindi project.

At that time, he said the government will provide a job for a member of each family, which lost their land in the project. This is an offence under the provisions of cyber crime laws,” they claimed.

The cyber crime police said that they had registered a complaint.

TDP cracks down in AP

TDP TS Nannuri Narsi Reddy saw it as an attempt to censor criticism of the State govt. Interestingly, TDP leader Varla Ramaiah on Monday lodged a police complaint in Vijayawada against those allegedly doctoring AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu’s pictures and videos.
