HYDERABAD: A six-day infant boy was allegedly abducted from the Government area hospital at Miryalaguda town of Nalgonda district in Telangana State. The mother has accused her friend of having abducted the boy

Parvathi of Haliya mandal headquarters living at Shabunagar Street of Miryalaguda town got admitted to the government area hospital as she started developing pains on February 20. Parvathi's friend Madhavi came along with her.

On Saturday night, Parvathi went to the washroom and came back a few minutes later only to find her baby missing.

Parvathi enquired about her baby in the hospital and on Sunday morning, she filed a complaint with the Miryalaguda II Town police station. In her complaint, Parvathi alleged that her friend Madhavi might have kidnapped her son.

Police investigation revealed that Parvathi got admitted at the hospital under Madhavi's name. "As Parvathi does not have a white ration card, she would not get the delivery incentive from the government. To claim this, Parvathi got admitted under the name of Madhavi and submitted the latter's white ration card,'' police said.

Miryalaguda police registered a case of missing baby and are investigating.

No Surveillance:

The Miryalguda area hospital was constructed 17 years ago.

The State government has given directions to all institutions, including hospitals to install Closed Circuit Cameras to avoid abductions and other incidents. However, no such surveillance cameras were installed on the premises.
