JAGTIAL: In the wake of a large number of people being duped by agents in the name of providing employment in Gulf countries, Shaik Chand Pasha, a social worker for the welfare of gulf victims made a 30-minute documentary Gulf Batalo Batukulu Gallantu (Lives Lost in the Way to Gulf).

The objective of making the documentary is to create awareness among people aspiring to work in the Gulf countries. The film is going to be released on March 1 in Jagtial and would be telecast on local channels.

Chand Pasha has documented the experiences of victims who have undergone hardship in the Gulf countries.

In the documentary, a case of an M Tech student, who had 10 acres fertile land in his native village going to Dubai, getting duped by the agent and his suffering are portrayed.

There are conversations and narration of experiences by victims including women. How women sent to these countries to work as maid servants are exploited by their employers, has also been  portrayed. The documentary also talks about various measures to be taken before travelling to the Gulf countries and the problems they could face in the event of being sent by a fake agent.  The film maker also talks about illegal Gulf agents, fake job visas and the problem one faces after losing passport and urges youth to search for employment in the state itself rather than getting cheated by fake agents.

Shaik Chand Pasha, himself a  former migrant worker in Gulf countries, faced a lot of problems in Saudi Arabia. After returning to Jagtial, he launched Gulf Returning Welfare Members Society and started service for welfare of Gulf victims.

If any person is stuck in Gulf countries, he takes initiative to meet NRI officials and approach Embassy offices. He also tries to check fake Gulf agents misleading youth. With the help of police he conducts awareness camps in villages over immigration Visa, how to apply for passport and opportunities in Gulf countries.
