JAGTIAL: Drawing inspiration from State government’s decision to conduct Independence Day and Republic Day at Golkonda Fort in Hyderabad, Jagtial district administration is gearing up to celebrate Republic Day at the Jagtial Fort, also known as “Jagtial Khilla”.
This is the first national event to be conducted in the district after it was carved out from the erstwhile Karimnagar district and the district administration wants to celebrate it on a grand scale.
District collector A Sharath took the initiative to celebrate Republic Day on a grand note at the Fort Ground, located on the outskirts of the town.
The decision to celebrate the event was taken after the Collector and SP B Anantha Sharma inspected the fort and looked into the feasibility of conducting the event.
Meanwhile, the authorities have been making arrangements for the event by cleaning the fort premises and the surrounding areas. The collector’s decision to celebrate Republic Day in the fort has created a lot of enthusiasm among the people, especially school children.
