 NAGARKURNOOL : Terming the intellectuals of the state pseudo-intellectuals, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday said they are questioning those who are obstructing the ongoing irrigation projects in the state by approaching courts and other means. He wondered if the so-called pseudo-intellectuals have collided with the anti-government forces in the state.


He made these remarks after inspecting canals of Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation project in Nagarkurnool district along with his cabinet colleagues Jupally krishna Rao and Laxma Reddy.He made it clear that there is no harm to the farmers of Mahbubnagar district with the proposed Palamuru - Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation scheme terming it as a false propaganda by the Opposition political parties and anti -government organisations.He said he would tour the district once in ten days to monitor the progress of the irrigation projects like Kalwakurthy, Bhima, Nettempadu and Koillsagar. He said the main objective of the state government and the chief minister is to irrigate 8 lakh acres in the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district by completing all the pending irrigation projects.


He warned the contractors of various irrigation projects and the officials of the department that they would initiate action against them if the goals set are not achieved. He asked the officials to complete land acquisition with the new Act. He also reviewed the status of land acquisition at Kalwakurthy Lift-3 Guest House along with his cabinet colleagues. 

Krishna river board asked to release water to Nagarjuna Sagar 
Nalgonda:
Nalgonda MP Gutha Sukendar Reddy said that the state government has decided to request Krishna river board to release water from Srisailam reservoir to Nagarjuna Sagar for drinking water purpose. Speaking to mediapersons in Nalgonda on Thursday, he said that most of the village tanks and major tanks, have dried up due to lack of rainfall in the district.
