HYDERABAD: The irrigation department will implement ‘Tail to Head’ system of irrigation at all irrigation projects in the state, the system that was successfully implemented in Peddpalli and Mancherial areas last year.
During a video conference held from the Secretariat with district collectors on Monday, irrigation minister T Harish Rao recalled that the system became a success in Madhya Pradesh. “We have implemented the same in some distributories under SRSP last year. The same should be implemented in all the irrigation projects across the state,” he told irrigation officials and district collectors.
The tail-end farmers under SRSP got irrigation water for the first time after 30 years under the system and paddy was cultivated in Akkampalli and Jangil villages, he pointed out.
