With Presidential elections just one day away, political parties have begun devising their final strategies.

HYDERABAD: With Presidential elections just one day away, political parties have begun devising their final strategies.Hyderabad-based All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), which earlier showed signs of staying neutral, have begun leaning towards the UPA presidential candidate Meira Kumar in the contest for the country’s top post.

“We are planning to support UPA candidate Meira Kumar in the presidential election. We have MP, seven MLAs from Telangana and two MLAs from Maharashtra. All will vote for Meira Kumar,” said a senior MIM leader speaking to Express here on Saturday evening. AIMIM  which was once an ally of the Congress Party, distanced itself from it in the recent past.

The relationship between the two parties soared so much that, Congress has even accused MIM of acting hand in glove with BJP.  Meanwhile, state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Bhanwar Lal along with election observer from New Delhi Sunil Kumar,  visited Assembly here on Saturday. They interacted with the Assembly secretary Raja Sadaram to know about the arrangements being made for the presidential elections to be held on Monday.
