Vexed with chronic kidney ailment, 56-yr-old ends life 

With no progress in the health condition despite prolonged treatment and the loans mounting, a frustrated victim of chronic kidney disease consumed pesticide.

SRIKAKULAM: Vexed over his prolonged illness and inability to repay the loan he had taken for treatment, a victim of chronic kidney disease (CKD) committed suicide by consuming pesticide at his house in Palavalasa village of Nandigam mandal in the intervening nights of Friday and Saturday. 
The issue came to the light after the victim’s wife lodged a complaint at Nandigam police station on Saturday. 

The deceased has been identified as Runku Tavitayya (56), a resident of Palavalasa village in Nandigam mandal. According to the Nandigam police, Tavitayya had been suffering from severe kidney ailments since the past many years and his two kidneys had got damaged.  
Tavitayya had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Visakhapatnam. He had also taken loans from his fellow villagers to afford to dialysis procedure.

With no progress in the health condition despite prolonged treatment and the loans mounting, a frustrated Tavitayya consumed pesticide late on Friday night before he went to sleep.  The family members, after noticing froth coming put of his mouth, shifted Tavitayya to Tekkali Area Hospital post-midnight. But, he was declared brought dead by the doctors at the hospital. A case has been registered at Nandigam police station and investigation is on.
