Special allowance: Navodaya staff to meet commissioner

To demand that the teaching and non-teaching staff of Navodaya schools be entitled to claim special allowances revised under the 7th Pay Commission.

HYDERABAD: Members of the Navodaya Vidyalya Staff Association in the state will meet the commissioner of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in New Delhi on Monday with the demand that the teaching and non-teaching staff of Navodaya schools be entitled to claim special allowances revised under the 7th Pay Commission.

This is in the wake of an official memorandum released by the central finance department asserting that as the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission came into effect from July 1, 2017, the disbursement of all existing allowances, which have not been recommended for continuation in terms of the Resolution dated July 6, 2017, shall be discontinued from July.

Manjula, the president of Navodaya Vidyalaya Staff Association, said, “We will be making a representation to ensure special allowances are paid.”
