Directorate of Census Operations seeks details of jurisdictional changes

The DCO sought information on the statutory towns added or deleted to the existing towns and statutory towns denotified between July 1, 2015 and April 30, 2017.

HYDERABAD: For updating the jurisdictional changes that took place after creation of new districts, addition and deletions of towns and mandals in Telangana, directorate of Census Operations, TS and AP, Union Ministry of Home Affairs has sought Telangana Municipal Administration department to furnish the details of jurisdictional changes that have taken place between July 1, 2015 and April 30, 2017.
The Directorate of Census Operations, Telangana, approached commissioner and director of Municipal Administration (DMA) to provide information for updating jurisdictional changes and list of districts, mandals (sub-sistricts), villages and towns after Census-2011 in the state.

The DCO had informed that it had already collected details of jurisdictional changes for from January 1, 2010 to June 30, 2015. The joint director and controlling officer, Directorate of Census Operations, Hyderabad last month urged the Telangana municipal administration department concerned to instruct the municipal commissioners of all the Municipal Corporations, Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats in the state to furnish the details of jurisdictional between July 1, 2015 and April 30, 2017 in the given format along with copies of relevant Gazette Notifications.

On the request of DCO, Director, DMA, TK Sreedevi few weeks ago has dashed off letters to all the municipal commissioners of urban local bodies to furnish the details. The DMA also urged the Regional Director-cum-Appellate Commissioner of Municipal Administration, Hyderabad and Warangal regions to pursue with the municipal commissioners in their respective regions. The DCO sought information on the statutory towns added or deleted to the existing towns and statutory towns denotified between July 1, 2015 and April 30, 2017.
