HYDERABAD: A thief whose midnight raid proved futile after he found no valuables to steal burned down the house he had broken into before making a run for it, in the early hours of Tuesday at Marredpally in Secunderabad.

According to police, the man entered the house which had been vacant since Monday night and is suspected to have set it ablaze in possible anger, and in a bid to erase all possible clues.
