KHAMMAM: Taking stock of loses suffered in recent encounters in Chhattisgarh due to lack of a strong courier system, the Maoist party is seeking to spread its activities and is planning to establish faithful courier system in Telangana.

According to a police officer, Maoists after losing a large number of cadres in Chattishgarh want to expand their presence in Bhadrachalam agency. It is learnt that Maoist recruitment is ongoing near the Telangana-Chattishgarh border. Maoist are focusing on Gottikoya and unemployed tribals and luring them with their preaching.

Maoists have a very strong base and network at grassroots level in Chattishgarh, but for the last few months due to lack of strong courier system they are losing cadre in encounters.

According to information, the Maoist leadership is planning to recruit new cadre and also recruit couriers by offering huge amounts as they cannot survive without couriers as all materials, medicines and essential commodities including arms are supplied by the couriers to them.

A few days ago Manugur police arrested three Maoist couriers and seized about 2,000 meters of electric wire and on March 21 Cherla police arrested two couriers and seized about 3,000 meters electric wire suspected to be used in making of land mines.
