HYDERABAD: The ruling TRS won the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahbubnagar teachers’ constituency MLC seat. TRS candidate Katepally Janardhan Reddy won the seat over his nearest rival T Manik Reddy with a margin of 4,509 value votes. Janardhan Reddy secured 9,734 value votes while Manik Reddy got 5,095 value votes.
The counting process, which began around 8 am on Wednesday, went on till late in the night as the election staff have to count the referential votes with none of the contesting candidates getting a clear mandate in the first preference votes.
Janardhan Reddy maintained lead from the first round of counting itself and won the election with a good majority.
