BJP to go at it alone in 2019 Telangana polls

The BJP has decided to finalise its candidate for the 2019 polls much in advance in order to repeat its performance in Uttar Pradesh even in Telangana.

HYDERABAD: The BJP has decided to finalise its candidate for the 2019 polls much in advance in order to repeat its performance in Uttar Pradesh even in Telangana.

The party also resolved to contest the 2019 polls all alone. In a chitchat with mediapersons here in the Assembly premises on Saturday, party state unit chief K Laxman said his party would not join hands with either the TDP or any other party in the coming days.

“There is a political vacuum in the state. Our party will fill it by undertaking a series of protests on the issues concerning people. We have begun taking steps to strengthen our party at booth level in every Assembly segment,” he said.

According to him, the BJP will implement a series of programmes from its foundation day, which falls on April 6, to April 14, the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar, in every Lok Sabha segment in the State.

“Party representatives from Delhi will tour each constituency to strengthen the party from booth level,” Laxman said.
