More than 20 2BHK houses to be given away as Ugadi gift to Telangana villagers

KHAMMAM: People of Maddulapalli village in Khammam rural mandal are going to get double bedroom houses as a gift on Ugadi as the administration has made arrangements for inauguration of 22 houses by district minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Wednesday.

Beneficiaries expressed happiness on getting double bedroom houses on Ugadi festival day by the minister. 

One of the beneficiaries, K Shanta, said they have never expected that they will live in a double bedroom house but by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s grace, they are going to get it. District collector DS Lokesh Kumar visited Maddulapalli village and examined arrangements for inauguration of 22 double bed room houses on Tuesday.

The collector said that about 3,600 double bedroom houses were sanctioned to the district and all houses will be constructed by October 2017. He said to encourage engineers they will give away awards to those who complete the houses in time. He added that all 22 beneficiaries will enter into their houses at a time.

He also said 28 double bedroom houses are getting ready by the first week of April and arrangements are being made for inauguration. He said, “We are planning to inaugurate all the remaining houses in phased manner and hand it over to beneficiaries.”
