KARIMNAGAR:  In their enthusiasm to complete their target of constructing two-bedroom (2BHK) houses, district officials are likely to cause damage to the Bio-Security Zone of the state’s lone Frozen Semen Bull Station (FSBS) here. Officials of FSBS fear that the Bio-Security Zone would be compromised if 2BHK houses are constructed there.

Their fears are not unfounded as the officials conducted a ground-breaking ceremony on the FSBS premises after narrowing down on a 10-acre land for constructing the houses.

Finance minister E Rajender, along with MLA Gangula Kamalakar and district collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, later inspected the FSBS premises which is spread over 200 acres at Padmanagar.
FSBS authorities dashed off a letter to their head office. But deputy director of Bull Semen Station Dr Jayakar said there is no intimation from their head office over land allotment.

District veterinary and animal husbandry officer Dr A Veeresham said a police training centre had already come up near the bull station. “If double bedroom structures come up, it may disturb the bio-security zone of FSBS,” he said. “Moreover, the Rs 10-crore National Dairy Plan-I project was allotted to Karimnagar. We have expansion plans for 150 new bulls. If the land is given for 2BHK houses, we have to purchase land for implementation of the dairy project,” Veeresham told Express.

According to sources, the district administration and public representatives have proposed to alienate 10 acres out of the 200 acres of FSBS land for construction of double bedroom houses (G+3).

Karimnagar RDO B Raja Goud said the proposed land would be taken over for double bedroom houses. Rajender said the government would build 1,400 houses in 10-acre FSBS land.
