MEA’s Videsh Sampark meet in Hyd tomorrow

HYDERABAD:Aiming at deliberations for creation of a database of migrants (their purpose of moving abroad, especially in the case of labourers who travel to Gulf and African countries for work) and also engagement of overseas Indians in the development of the nation while ensuring their welfare in respective countries, a first-of-its kind outreach programme will be held at HICC in Madhapur here on May 13.

The day-long conference, ‘Videsh Sampark’, will be held by the ministry of external affairs in partnership with Telangana government to enhance awareness among stakeholders and officials about the programmes, schemes and initiatives launched by the ministry with regard to consular and passport services, and also about issues concerning the diaspora.
Minister of state for external affairs VK Singh will lead the delegation of MEA. State minister for NRI affairs KT Rama Rao, along with home and labour minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy, will lead the state government’s delegation.
