HYDERABAD: Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman M Kodandaram, whose recent efforts to organise agitations on people’s issues were suppressed by state government with police force, has issued a warning to the government, saying that if permission is not granted for the ‘save dharna chowk’ programme to be held here on May 15, entire Hyderabad will become a dharna chowk.
Flanked by leaders of all opposition  parties in state, the former professor, led a ‘silent protest’ at Telangana Martyrs’ Memorialon Friday.

During the protest held to exert pressure on the government to withdraw its proposal to relocate the dharna chowk, Kodandaram said, “The government should withdraw its proposal to relocate it. Or else, a massive agitation will be organised in the coming days. If one dharna chowk is removed, hundreds will spring up across the state capital. Every place in Hyderabad will become a dharna chowk,” Kodandaram said.
Earlier, setting aside their political differences, opposition parties promised to work under the guidance of Kodandaram to oppose the alleged “anti-people’s policies” of the government.
