HYDERABAD:With hardly a month left for the rollout of Goods and Services Tax (GST), about 87 per cent of active central excise assessees and 84 per cent of active service tax assessees have already migrated to GST in Telangana, announced M Srinivas, commissioner of customs, central excise and service tax, Hyderabad-III at a national conference on GST here on Friday.

“The response from traders is good but the gateway has been blocked now for further testing,” he said, adding that about 30 per cent of all-in-one system has been set up to ensure smooth transition. The size of the cardre  and acquisition of new office premises were also being worked out.
“Over 60,000 officials have been trained so far and master trainers are being selected. Various outreach programmes have been conducted in association with trade associations. At present, GSTN software is under its final stage of development though various modules of software are already functional,” Srinivas said.
