HYDERABAD: Gundrampally village in Nalgonda district, which played a key role in Telangana Peasants Struggle, will host a community lunch for BJP national president Amit Shah during his three-day visit to the state from May 22.

Amit Shah has decided to utilise his tour across Nalgonda district to recall the sacrifices made by various villagers in the district during Telangana people’s fight against Razakars in the erstwhile Hyderabad State ruled by Nizam.

As per the schedule, Shah will spend much of his time at Gundrampally village in Chityal mandal, which falls under Nakrekal Assembly segment, on May 24. He will meet the kin of the 160 families brutally murdered by Razakars in the village. He will have community lunch with them, later.

Sources said the BJP central leadership, which has already decided to utilise state government’s decision to provide 12 per cent reservations to Muslims to polarise the electorate in TS, has planned this visit by Shah to evoke bitter memories of the Telangana Peasants Struggle to woo Hindu voters into party’s fold.

Meanwhile, the BJP State leadership, which hopes that the three day visit of party national president will give much needed impetus to the party cadres, has chalked out a four-month long action plan to take the party to maximum number of voters in TS. “The party will hold mass contact programmes starting May 29 to meet at least 50 lakh families in rural areas,” BJP MLA NVSS Prabhakar said.

Plan of  action

Amit Shah will arrive at Shamshabad airport at 10.15 am on May 22. He is likely to meet seer Swamy Paripoornananda Saraswati

According to party MLA NVSS Prabhakar, after that, Shah will proceed to Keretpally in Munugode Assembly segment

After having community lunch with dalits at an SC colony in the village, he will take part in BJP state executive meeting. Later, he will participate in the intellectuals meeting

On May 23, Shah will unveil the statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at Deendayal Basthi in ST colony in Nalgonda

He will then visit Pedda Devulapally village in Nagarjunasagar Assembly segment and conduct door-to-door visits. Later, he will have community lunch either with BCs or SCs there

On May 24, after visiting Gundrampally village, Shah will proceed to Bhongir and take part in intellectuals meet in Bhongir

He will then proceed to Hyderabad and address Hyderabad LS segment BJP workers’ meet. On May 25, he will leave for Vijayawada
