BJP to play Razakar card during party president Amit Shah’s visit to Telangana

Amit Shah will meet the kin of 160 families murdered by Razakars at Gundrampally.

HYDERABAD: Gundrampally village in Nalgonda district, which played a key role in Telangana Peasants Struggle, will host a community lunch for BJP national president Amit Shah during his three-day visit to the state from May 22.

Amit Shah has decided to utilise his tour across Nalgonda district to recall the sacrifices made by various villagers in the district during Telangana people’s fight against Razakars in the erstwhile Hyderabad State ruled by Nizam.

As per the schedule, Shah will spend much of his time at Gundrampally village in Chityal mandal, which falls under Nakrekal Assembly segment, on May 24. He will meet the kin of the 160 families brutally murdered by Razakars in the village. He will have community lunch with them, later.

Sources said the BJP central leadership, which has already decided to utilise state government’s decision to provide 12 per cent reservations to Muslims to polarise the electorate in TS, has planned this visit by Shah to evoke bitter memories of the Telangana Peasants Struggle to woo Hindu voters into party’s fold.

Meanwhile, the BJP State leadership, which hopes that the three day visit of party national president will give much needed impetus to the party cadres, has chalked out a four-month long action plan to take the party to maximum number of voters in TS. “The party will hold mass contact programmes starting May 29 to meet at least 50 lakh families in rural areas,” BJP MLA NVSS Prabhakar said.
