HYDERABAD: A city-based religious school, Jamiatul Mominat, organised an educational training programme - 26th Annual State level Ijtema (gathering) for women at Royal Function Hall, Alijah Kotla, in the city on Sunday.

As many as 309 girls from the school were felicitated by Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali in the graduation programme. Ali, the school officials and other male participants in the programme - Mohammad Hasanuddin and Hafiz Mastan Ali addressed the gathering of women from behind a purdah.
The girls were bestowed upon with Fazil (degree), which is an eight year course. The degree  is equivalent to a BA under Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). “A good society is built through education. To teach the Holy Quran is a big responsibility and honour. Allah agrees with the person who seeks Islamic education. By seeking education, a woman becomes capable of supporting her family and lives a successful life. The quality of education and training provided by Jamiatul Mominath is an example on its own,” said deputy CM.

Women Muftis or Muftias (individuals qualified to issue fatwa) and scholars, namely Hafiza Mominati, Nazima Mominati, Tehmina Mominati, Syeda Tayyaba, Nasreen Iftekhar, and Syeda Ishrat were among the few guests.All the women participants were clad in burqas, following strict instructions from the programme organisers.When asked about the girls’ uniform regulations in Jamiatul Mominath, Hasanuddin, the school head said, “Girls are strictly instructed to wear burqas. This is for their own good. I will give you an example, if you throw as toffee with a wrapper on the floor, it will be safe. But, if you throw it without wrapper, it will be eaten up by flies or ants. Same is the situation when it comes to women and burqas.”
