NALGONDA: Expressing unhappiness over the performance of BJP state leaders, party national president Amit Shah told them that he would be visiting the state frequently hereafter in order to make the party come to power in Telangana by 2019.

“Our party has favourable atmosphere in Telangana to rise to power. We should utilise every opportunity in the way. From now on, I will be visiting the State for every three months to gauge your performance. By hook or by crook, our party should gain power in the Telangana. It should be our gateway to get a firm foothold in the South,” Amit Shah told the party leaders, during his interaction with them in Nalgonda on Monday.

According to sources, the BJP national president chided the party local leaders for not undertaking  massive agitations against the state government’s failures.

“Why did you fail to hold a massive agitation against chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, when he had constructed a lavish mansion, Pragathi Bhavan, for himself with people’s money? Why did you fail to question his act of spending people’s money on his religious tours to Tirumala and other places to offer ornaments to Gods?,” Amit Shah reportedly rebuked his party state leaders, during the meeting.

It is learnt that the BJP national president asked his party state leaders to organise large-scale agitations against the TRS government’s move to provide 12 per cent reservations to Muslims and its alleged failure to provide remunerative prices to agricultural produces such as chillies in order to woo the farming community to the BJP’s side.

Later, while addressing mediapersons, BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao disclosed that Shah told the local leaders that there is a favourable atmosphere for the saffron party in Telangana to come to power.

“Shah asked the party local leaders to explain people how different the BJP is when compared to other parties in terms of leadership. All other parties including the Congress Party are witnessing dynastic leadership. But, the BJP is the only party where leaders are nurtured as per their capabilities,” he said.
