HYDERABAD: In a surprise move late Tuesday night, revenue officials reportedly on orders from the chief minister, sealed the office of the Telangana state Wakf Board. Heavy police deployment was noticed outside the Hajj house at Nampally.After a reported review meeting at Pragati Bhawan, and after hearing unsatisfactory answers from Wakf board official with regard to recent disputes, orders were passed to revenue officials to seal the second section of Wakf Board.
Hyderabad collector yogitha Rana, RDO chandrakala, ex-CEO Asadullah, present CEO Mannan Farooqui, minorities welfare secretary Omar Jaleel reached Hajj house building, which also houses the Wakf board office and sealed several floors belonging to the Wakf board.
All the records have been safely sealed for a probe. Revenue officials have initiated verification of certain records. This action of the government assumes significance as the state Assembly is schedued to hold a discussion on minority welfare on Wednesday.
